INGRID DEON

Ingrid Deon is the founder and CEO of word-craft, a WBE-certified social media marketing agency headquartered in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Ingrid specializes in organic social media strategy, content creation and community management, and works with clients such as Nestlé Canada, Manulife and RBC Wealth Management. Ingrid started her career as a journalist and became a single Mom when her son was three years old. She was a statistic -- a single mother living under the poverty line and working three jobs in rural Nova Scotia. She struggled to find steady work in her field until a marketing agency in Halifax took a chance on her and offered her an entry level position as a social media coordinator. That's when she discovered that she loved writing for social media. In October 2019, she started her business full-time and now employs five talented women who work with 20 clients across Canada.
